Turkmen Government – Turkmenistan–USA: Expanding Horizons of Economic Cooperation (Russian)

Today, the Turkmen-American Business Forum was held in the capital. A delegation of American businessmen headed by the executive director of the Turkmen-American Business Council Eric Stewart arrived in our country to participate in it.
As representatives of the Turkmen side noted, the visit of the head of the joint Business Council to Turkmenistan is seen as a means of expanding productive cooperation between the business circles of the two countries.
The participants emphasized in their speeches that Turkmen-American relations are traditionally friendly and are developing on an ongoing basis, taking into account the principles of equality, mutual respect and benefit. The parties expressed their readiness to increase multifaceted effective cooperation, including in the areas of trade, investment, and business communities. In this regard, the important role of the Turkmen-American Business Council was emphasized.
As noted, Turkmenistan, which is implementing a strategy of economic development through diversification and active involvement of the best global practices and advanced technologies, is open to effective cooperation and supports the efforts of US business circles to strengthen their position in the Turkmen market.
Our country has created a favorable investment climate and organizational and legal mechanisms for doing business. This helps attract more and more foreign partners to work in the promising Turkmen market.
Speaking about the great interest of leading American companies in expanding multilateral cooperation, the guests confirmed their intention to take part in the implementation of large-scale state programs in the interests of the peoples of the Central Asian region, strengthening peace and trust on the planet.
As noted, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the United States, a wealth of experience in joint activities has been accumulated. Companies such as John Deere, Case, General Electric, Boeing and others are successfully operating in strategically important areas of our country's economy.
The activities of the Turkmen-American Business Council and its role in strengthening economic relations based on long-term and mutual benefit were considered separately. In this regard, it was emphasized that regular business meetings, forums and exhibitions organized by the Council contribute to the establishment of close contacts between the public and private sectors of the two countries.
Priority areas of cooperation include trade and investment activities in the field of supplying equipment for industry, agriculture and water management.
There are also great prospects in the areas of fuel and energy, transport and communications, construction, innovative technologies, healthcare, ecology, etc.
Participants of the Turkmen-American Business Forum exchanged views on the possibilities of increasing bilateral cooperation in various sectors of the economy and investment, high technologies, expanding trade turnover between the two countries, and outlined specific plans for cooperation in priority areas.
In addition, within the framework of the forum, meetings were held between representatives of relevant ministries, departments and private companies with American businessmen, during which plans for the further development of bilateral relations were discussed.
